The strongest engine: +5% speed and +10% acceleration per level for the Battleship, Stealth bomber, Destroyer and Imperial starbase.
Which ships benefit?
Each level makes the Battle ship, Stealth bomber, Destroyer and Imperial star base 5% faster and improves their acceleration by 10% (Flight model).
Requirements and unlocks
You need Engine research level 8 and a Research lab at level 8. The Warp engine unlocks the Battle ship (level 4), the Stealth bomber (level 6) and the Destroyer (level 8). At level 10 – together with Graviton technology level 10 – it is required for Black hole research.
Warp ships are the backbone of big fleets. If you rely on battleships or destroyers, keep the Warp engine up to date so that attacks and save flights do not take too long.
Background
Warp engines first came available with the discovery of the warp effect. The warp engine is able to generate an energy-impulse-tensor which changes the time-space continuum around the ship. This modification leads to a significant reduction in the effective distance between start and end point of the journey. The speed of the warp engine increases by 5% and the acceleration by 10% for each level. At speeds close to that of the speed of light, the phenomenon of "resonance" occurs, leading to the formation of black holes. That is why the warp technology is so important for scientists interested in black hole research.
