Scanner ship

The scanner ship is not built from resources: with the data disc "Data-Disc-Secrets" you convert an existing Small fighter into a scanner ship in the Weapons factory. Each order produces exactly one scanner ship and uses up one small fighter. The costs shown are those of the fighter you give up for it.

The build time is fixed: 12 hours at normal game speed. Neither the weapons factory nor the Microsystem accelerator shortens it. If you cancel the order, you get your small fighter back.

How to use it

• Send scanner ships with an attack fleet, with recyclers or on their own to an alien planet. They search the debris for fragments of data discs – with scanner ships your chance of finding them is much higher.
• At alien planets, scanner ships may even start a Recycle mission without recyclers.
• In battle the scanner ship has the stats of a small fighter, including bonus damage against the Light graviton cannon.
