Combat system

How a battle plays out in SpaceInvasion 2: rounds, technology, bonus damage, loot and debris fields – explained in plain terms.

A battle starts as soon as an attacking fleet reaches its target and finds ships or defenses there. It runs fully automatically – you do not need to be online. Afterwards both sides receive a detailed battle report.

Rounds

A battle lasts at most 5 rounds. In each round both sides fire. Damage hits the shields first, then the hull. If one side is wiped out earlier, the battle ends at once. An element of chance means close fights can go either way – plan with a safety margin.

What makes a fleet strong

The base stats of every unit are listed in the Ships and Defense overviews. Three research topics boost them in combat: Weapons technology raises attack, Shield technology raises shields and Defense systems raises hull – each by 10% per level.

  • Bonus damage: Many ships deal extra damage to certain defenses, and many guns to certain ships. The more of those targets the other side has, the stronger the bonus. Every unit page shows which pairings exist.
  • Stealth bombers: The Stealth bomber deals bonus damage to every gun and shield dome and only shows up on the defender's display halfway through its flight.
  • Shield domes: The Small shield dome and the Large shield dome protect the resources – as long as a dome is standing, the attacker cannot win.

After the battle

  • Victory: The attacker only wins if not a single unit is left on the planet. Then they plunder up to half of the resources – limited by the cargo space of their fleet. With the Inactive Farmer, for example from the emblem shop, they can even take everything that fits into their fleet from inactive players.
  • Draw: If units are left on both sides after the last round, the attacker retreats without loot.
  • Debris field: Destroyed ships and installations leave a debris field at the coordinates with part of their metal and kryptonite, which anyone can harvest with recyclers (Recycling).
  • Repairs: Part of the destroyed defense is rebuilt automatically after the battle. Destroyed ships, however, are gone.
  • Battle report: With "Share report" you can show others your battle, and you can release particularly impressive fights for the Hall of Fame.

Protection rules

You can only attack players within your range (Points & Attack Zones) – not members of your own alliance, not coalition or wing partners and not players in vacation mode. You may attack the same planet of an active player at most three times within 24 hours (bash protection). In an alliance war this limit is relaxed.
