Welcome, Commander! You start with your own planet with 230 building fields, 1,800 Pig iron and 850 Kryptonite. Your goal: build up mines and energy, do research, create a fleet and expand to more planets – while protecting everything from other players. This page guides you through your first hours.
The first hour: a proven build order
- Build the Fusion plant, then the Pig iron mine and the Kryptonite mine. Mines need energy – so keep upgrading these three buildings in turns. This is exactly how the tutorial starts, too.
- Always keep an eye on your energy display. If there is not enough energy, all mines on the planet produce less. Plan a matching power plant level for every mine upgrade (Energy).
- Build the Spice mine. Spice is the most valuable resource and the fuel of every fleet.
- Upgrade the Development center. Every level clearly shortens the construction time of all buildings on that planet – one of the best investments early on.
- Build the Blast furnace. It turns Pig iron into Metal, which you need for almost everything – and it constantly uses up Pig iron as well as energy to do so.
- Build the Research lab and start researching – for example Mining technology for more mining output and Energy technology for more energy.
- For your first ships you need the Weapons factory, the Fleet base and the Rocket engine. The Tech tree shows what is still missing: green means you can build it, red means requirements are still missing.
Keep an eye on resources and storage
Under Economy you can see what each planet produces per hour. The bars in the resource display show how full your warehouses are: green is fine, orange means almost full, red means full. Once a warehouse is full, any further production of that resource is lost – so upgrade your Pig iron warehouse, Metal warehouse, Kryptonite warehouse and Spice warehouse in time. More on this: Resources.
Fleet, loot and the escape flight
Ships and resources left unprotected on a planet attract attackers. So get used to the escape flight (also called save flight) right from the start: before you go offline, send your ships away with as many resources as possible on a flight that only returns once you are back online. If not everything fits into the cargo holds, take Spice first, then Metal, Kryptonite and finally Pig iron.
You can make your first loot from inactive players – they appear in yellow in the galaxy (Galaxy map). Spy on them first with a Spy probe (espionage) so you know what to expect. A single attack can take at most half of the resources lying on a planet. The planets of Spacia are also a popular target (Spacia).
Your first colony
With a Colony ship you settle free planets (colonization). Every additional planet brings its own mines and therefore more production. How many building fields a new colony gets is random, and its position in the solar system plays a part. There are four temperature zones depending on the distance to the sun: hot planets close to the sun deliver more solar energy, cold planets far from the sun produce more Spice.
Protection for newcomers
Whom you may attack and who may attack you depends on points: the target must have between 25 % and 400 % of your points. In addition, the lowest attack zone is protected: players in attack zone 1 can only be attacked by players from the same zone. Use this time for mines, energy and research (Points & Attack Zones).
